Scilligence Gives Back During the COVID-19 Pandemic

While streets and stores may be empty during the COVID-19 outbreak, our hospitals are over capacity. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in an increase in patients and massive shortage in supplies for healthcare workers. The world is currently facing a chronic shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE). One of these items that hospitals are in dire need of are face masks to protect workers from airborne particles. Doctors and nurses have been forced to improvise with other items because they don’t have access to proper kits.

Scilligence has responded to this need by donating 10,080 N95 face masks to the Cambridge Health Alliance. These masks help protect our healthcare heroes by providing proper filtration and facial fit to aid against contracting the novel coronavirus. Scilligence had the masks, made in the USA, shipped from overseas.

“Their amazing gift of over 10,000 N95 masks is a critical component of our strategy to provide the greatest possible protection to our healthcare workers throughout the entire arc of this crisis.”Jill Batty, Senior Vice President and CFO of Cambridge Health Alliance.

Scilligence is proud to be able to help support our community during these critical times. “We are saddened by the continued loss of life in this COVID-19 crisis.  This virus doesn’t distinguish between borders or race, especially endangering our healthcare workers at the frontline of this global struggle.  The donation of high-quality N95 masks to our medical community is the least we can do as a Boston-based company”, said Dr. Jinbo Lee, Chief Scientific Officer of Scilligence Corporation.  “CHA is extremely grateful for the prompt and generous outreach from Tony Yuan, Scilligence Director of R&D. This company immediately recognized the need for the Cambridge community to pull together to prepare for the COVID19 pandemic.  Their amazing gift of over 10,000 N95 masks is a critical component of our strategy to provide the greatest possible protection to our healthcare workers throughout the entire arc of this crisis. Scilligence’s willingness to step forward is a wonderful example of community stewardship during this time of crisis for the vulnerable populations CHA serves.”, said Jill Batty, Senior Vice President and CFO of Cambridge Health Alliance.

As we continue to fight this outbreak, it is important to keep in mind what we can do as groups and individuals to help this crisis come to resolution. Following guidelines and staying in unless absolutely essential is key at this time. Scilligence employees are currently working from home and assisting customers remotely. Our donation to Cambridge Health Alliance and remote efforts are a small but important part in our efforts to help end the COVID-19 pandemic.
