ELN 7.6.0 External Release Notes

These release notes highlight the key updates introduced in ELN 7.6.0. This release delivers enhancements to configurability, administration, and everyday usability to support more efficient workflows.

Experiment and Form Improvements

General
  • New ELN installations now include the following experiment forms by default: General Template, Spreadsheet for BioAssay, Spreadsheet for Biologics, Word Processing, Single-Step Reaction, Small Library, and Process Chemistry.
    Additional experiment templates are available upon request.
Instruments and Materials
  • Improved formatting for column headers in tables downloaded from the Materials page.
  • An Instrument Ledger page can now be added to ELN, providing a centralized view of instrument information from experiments.
FlexForm
  • The FlexForm template can now be configured to display specific component categories, helping streamline the authoring experience.
  • Components designed for integrated applications such as RegMol or Inventory can now also be configured for use in non-integrated environments.
  • Each table component now includes a Define Column option for greater configuration flexibility.
  • Two new FlexForm components are now available: X-ray Crystallography and Protein Cryo-Electron Microscopy (Cryo-EM).
  • When downloading data from the Instruments table, the Instrument No. column is no longer included in exported files.
  • Component categories can now be configured directly in the component description.
  • Chinese-language translations have been added to the Save Sections and Append Field windows.
General Template
  • A new experiment form, General Template, is now available in ELN. Similar to FlexForm, it provides a flexible starting point for creating custom experiment forms.
Protein Expression
  • DNA constructs can now be loaded using a sequence ID.
Spreadsheet for Bioassay
  • Users can now select from multiple spreadsheet templates attached to a single protocol.

Security

  • System administrators can now view and manage users associated with child accounts, including contract research organizations, from the Accounts page in the admin interface.

UI/UX

  • The Choose Notebook option has been removed from the folder creation dialog in Project Docs to streamline the folder creation workflow.
  • Unused icons have been removed from the Recycle Bin when viewing deleted experiments, providing a cleaner interface.
